Organic Wine Works - Radical Red

On my continuing journey through the organic wine shelf of local liquor store A I went back and grabbed a half a case of reds, leaving just a few more to try when these are done. Tonight I opened the Organic Wine Works Radical Red. It has the honor of being the first ever vegan wine I have ever tried.

It tastes okay. And is almost a little spicy? Not as dry as some of the others either. Not sure if I will be buying this again, but I will finish the bottle before I decide for sure.

Frey 2010 Organic Cabernet Sauvignon

Tonight's wine is a Frey 2010 Organic Cabernet Sauvignon. Again purchased because it was Organic and with no sulfites added. Now again, please remember I know NOTHING about wines, except how my dad makes his stuff in his basement, or how the immigrant neighbors down the street made theirs (in a barrel, with no lid on - whatever air born yeast landed there did the job... eventually) so my descriptions may not make much sense. You wine people out there can feel free to teach me the proper descriptions for what I am experiencing.

I like this wine. It does not make me as puckery about the face as the last one did. Also I find the aftertaste more pleasant. I will definitely be buying more of this, as well as trying more from this winery.

Still following doctor directed diet. Much less resentful about it since I am feeling so much better. Have not gone near the scale for fear that eating all this good food will really be making me fatter anyway.

And now I shall go finish my glass on wine and relax. Because I earned it with 6 loads of laundry washed, dried, folded and put away today.

In which I make a lifestyle change

I need to update my read books desperately. If you can't wait till I do I tweet when I finish them, but coming here to post has not happened yet.

On another note, my specialist told me I have to go on the Anti-Inflammatory diet, (and adding in gluten-free and dairy-free for the first month) to help deal with the Sjorgrens. Which overall has sent me into a spin, as I learn an entirely new way to eat.

Near as I can tell the only fun part of this entire thing is that I get to drink wine every night. The not so fun thing is that I know nothing about wine, it has to be red, and preferrably organic with no added sulfates. Fun I tell you.

So today I went shopping at the local wine store. And while the carry organic wines, they clearly look down their noses at it, and were totally unhelpful about picking something that might be a better fit for my sweet wine loving pallet, instead just telling me what sells best. Okay so lets start with those?

Tonight's wine is a Merlot from Stellar Organics. It is a bit dry for my taste, but enjoyable just the same. Not putting this on the do not drink list, or the favorite right now. Will buy again though!
